The Affton Americans Hockey organization offers opportunities for children of varying ages and skill levels, ranging from their "Learn-To-Play" program for children as young as four, to their St. Louis Junior Blues program for young men up to 20 years old. They also provide ice time for hockey programs in St. Louis City and County, as well as Southern Illinois, which includes local high schools like Lindbergh, CBC, SLUH, and Vianney, other youth hockey clubs, a college hockey organization, and our organization, the DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation.

In 1972, the Affton Khoury League provided the land for a new outdoor ice rink on what was originally baseball's Field #1. The rink was constructed through the dedicated efforts of numerous volunteers, as well as Noel Piccard of the newly formed St. Louis Blues. This facility is still recognized today as one of the finest venues in St. Louis, offering exceptional ice quality.

Event Details

Please note: This event is exclusively for adults, and we can only allow participants who are 18 years of age or older. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

We invite you to participate in the 6th annual Jonny O's Pond Hockey Tournament. We are very excited to bring this event back to Affton, where it originally started. As some of you may be aware, the inaugural Jonny O tournament took place in Affton, and it was also held there in 2022 and 2023. For the subsequent two years, the event was relocated to Steinberg Skating Rink.

This tournament will feature two simultaneous games, and goalies will not be utilized as we will be using traditional Pond Hockey Puck Boxes for goals. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, ensuring each team plays a minimum of 4 games.

We offer full team registration, and you can secure your team's spot by making a deposit. We encourage you to act quickly, as this event is expected to sell out, and we would not want you to miss out on this exciting weekend of hockey and giving back. If you do not have a team, please do not worry, as we will also be accepting individual registrations. However, individual spots will be limited.

In addition to the on-ice action, we have prepared a range of entertaining off-ice activities. In keeping with DAWG Nation's mission of giving back, we will be organizing a silent auction, raffles, check presentations, and many more surprises that we'll announce as the event approaches.

How It All Began

DAWG Nation was established in Colorado in 2011 by a small group of adult hockey players who came together to support their fellow teammates during challenging times. Since then, we have contributed over 4 million dollars to members of our hockey community who were in dire need. Our founder Martin Richardson was a semi-finalist for the NHL's Willie O'Ree Community Hero Award in 2023.

The St. Louis chapter was born in January 2021 after our friend and teammate, Jon Orelt (also known as Jonny O), was tragically paralyzed in a freak accident in late 2020. With the support of the community and DAWG Nation, we were able to present Jonny with a check for 55k at the first annual Jonny O's 3-on-3 Affton Bash. Since then, our team at DAWG Nation has been instrumental in rallying the St. Louis community to support individuals facing times of crisis.

The proceeds from our events will go towards supporting recipients of DAWG Nation grants, who have been carefully selected from our charitable class. DAWG Nation is a tax-exempt public charity under IRS Code 501 (c)(3). Our tax identification number is 99-2248767
