Venue

The Steinberg Skating Rink, situated in Forest Park, is conveniently located near the Barnes-Jewish Washington University Medical campus on Kingshighway. Notably, this rink holds the distinction of being the largest outdoor rink in the Midwest, boasting an impressive 27,600 square feet of ice. While Steinberg Rink was primarily designed for ice skating, we are thrilled to present a unique opportunity to participate in a hockey tournament under the open sky.

Event Details

Please note: This event is exclusively for adults, and we can only allow participants who are 18 years of age or older. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

We cordially invite you to join us for the second outdoor Pond Hockey Tournament organized by the St. Louis Chapter of DAWG Nation!

This tournament will feature three simultaneous games, and there will be no goalies as we will be utilizing traditional Pond Hockey Puck Boxes for goals. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, ensuring each team plays a minimum of four games. One game will be played on Friday, followed by three round-robin games on Saturday. The playoffs and championship games will take place on Sunday. Teams will consist of four players, with a maximum of eight players allowed per team.

We are delighted to offer full team registration, and you can secure your team's spot by making a deposit. Act swiftly, as this event is expected to sell out, and we wouldn't want you to miss out on this exciting opportunity. If you do not have a team, fret not, as we will also be accepting individual registrations. However, individual spots will be limited.

In addition to the on-ice action, we have prepared a range of entertaining winter-themed activities off the ice. In keeping with DAWG Nation's mission of giving back, we will be organizing a silent auction, raffles, check presentations, and many more surprises that will be revealed as the event approaches.

We look forward to welcoming you to this exceptional event and creating unforgettable memories together.

How It All Began

DAWG Nation was established in Colorado in 2011 by a small group of adult hockey players who came together to support their fellow teammates during challenging times. Since then, we have contributed over 4 million dollars to members of our hockey community who were in dire need. Our founder Martin Richardson was a semi-finalist for the NHL's Willie O'Ree Community Hero Award in 2023.

The St. Louis chapter was born in January 2021 after our friend and teammate, Jon Orelt (also known as Jonny O), was tragically paralyzed in a freak accident in late 2020. With the support of the community and DAWG Nation, we were able to present Jonny with a check for 55k at the first annual Jonny O's 3-on-3 Affton Bash. Since then, our team at DAWG Nation has been instrumental in rallying the St. Louis community to support individuals facing times of crisis.

The proceeds from our events will go towards supporting recipients of DAWG Nation grants, who have been carefully selected from our charitable class. DAWG Nation is a tax-exempt public charity under IRS Code 501 (c)(3). Our tax identification number is 99-2248767
