We welcome you to our first outdoor Pond Hockey Tournament in the St. Louis Chapter of DAWG Nation. The Steinberg Skating Rink is located in Forest Park right in the shadow of Barnes-Jewish Washington University Medical campus on Kingshighway. The skating rink is the largest outdoor rink in the Midwest at 27,600 square feet of ice. Hockey is not usually played at Steinberg as this rink was designed for ice skating. So this will be a unique opportunity to play a tournament there under the open sky!
This tournament will have 3 games going on at once. There will be no goalies as the goals will be traditional Pond Hockey Puck Boxes. A round-robin style bracket with a 4-game guarantee. All teams will play one game on Friday and the remaining 3 round-robin games will be played on Saturday. Playoffs/ championship games will be played on Sunday. This is a 4vs4 team play with a maximum of 8 players per team.
Full team registration is available and you can put in a deposit to hold your team spot. So act fast because this will sell out and we'd hate to see you miss out! No team, not a problem as you'll be able to sign up as an individual as well. Individual spots will be limited.
Off of the ice will feature fun winter-themed entertainment. Some NHL Alumni will be present making player appearances and even participating in the tournament. Since our mission at DAWG Nation is to give back we will have a silent auction, raffles, and much more to be announced as we get closer to the event!

How it all began |

As some of you may know DAWG Nation was founded in Colorado in 2011 by a small group of adult hockey players who came together to support their fellow teammates during very difficult times. Since then we've given over 4 million dollars to members of our hockey community who needed it the most. Our founder and President Martin Richardson was a semi-finalist for the NHL's Willie O'Ree Community Hero Award in 2023. The St Louis chapter was born in January 2022. After our friend and teammate Jon Orelt (aka Jonny O) was paralyzed in a freak accident. Together the community along with DAWG Nation was able to present Jonny with a check for 55k at the first annual Jonny O's 3-on-3 Affton Bash. Since then our team at DAWG Nation has helped rally the community together in St.Louis for others going through times of crisis. Proceeds will help to support recipients of DAWG Nation grants who DAWG Nation has selected from its charitable class. DAWG Nation is a tax-exempt public charity under IRS Code 501 (c)(3).
